  1. I agree with you guys because I believe high school students are still immature and are not responsible enough to drive a car.

  3. I sometimes drove my father's old truck (it was a 1960 Chevrolet pick up) to my high school when I was a student. I did this from the age of 16. And, as I mentioned in class, my father drove his high school's school bus when he was still a student. Despite these experiences, I have to agree with you that 16 years of age is too young and immature to drive a car.

There is such a young minimum age for getting a driver's license in the States partly because many high school students live in rural areas and some of them have to work to help support their family or to make money for college. I believe that the majority of urban youths in the States want to drive as soon as possible to have more freedom from their parents, especially when it comes to dating.

I'll be interested in what you find out in your research about the relative advantages, if any, to having an older minimum age for being able to drive a car. You might also want to consider if there should be a maximum age for driving a car. My mother will be 90 years of age this year and she still drives, even though she probably shouldn't. As long as the state of California issues her a license, she says she will continue to drive. What do you think?

  4. I think that children don't have the ability to judge when driving a car. We should carefully consider the age of starting to drive a car.
