Q1.How many people are executed every year in Japan?

A1. As you can see on the graph, in 2012 as the most recent, 3 people were executed by the death penalty.

  1. As I mentioned to you in class, you should find more than one site (or print source) to answer your research questions. More up-to-date information could be found at Amnesty International's site. Also, if you had been reading the news over the last 2 weeks, you'd know that another person was put to death in Japan at the end of last month. In fact, according to Amnesty International, since Abe came to power in December of 2012 nine convicted criminals have been hanged. As many as 128 people remain on death row in Japan.
